Hon. Segun Odunmbaku Attends Ojodu LCDA Markets Thanksgiving, Promises Infrastructure Upgrades

The Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku today attended the Project Launch of the Water Sanitation Improvement Project (WASHIP) made possible by the PEPSICO Foundation and WaterAID, aimed at improving public health through the provision of water, sanitation,and hygiene services in selected LCDAs across Lagos State.
The project launch commenced the implementation of the 1 million dollars funded rehabilitation of selected water schemes, providing inclusive sanitation facilities within public places such as markets, schools and health centers in Ojodu LCDA, Ikotun LCDA and Ikorodu LCDA that already have ongoing interventions.
Hon. Segun Odunmbaku in his goodwill message appreciated both Water Aid Nigeria and PEPSICO Foundation for the laudable progamme and partnership that has benefitted Ojodu LCDA regarding capacity building for better hygiene and sanitation which would improve environmental quality and healthiness of Ojodu people.
“Our partnership with Water Aid Nigeria would not just provide amenities that would aid and improve hygiene and sanitation in public places like markets schools and health centers in our communities but would also contribute to boosting environmental health and help us to create more resilient communities living in healthy environments through the intervention in provision of WASH facilities in Ojodu LCDA” said the Mayor.
“We are excited about the new project supported by PEPSICO Foundation and look forward to working in close collaboration with partners to improve systems and practices that fulfill our people’s right to water and sanitation in our markets, schools and health centers to improve the socioeconomic conditions of our people in Ojodu LCDA” He further said.
In attendance were the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos Primary Health Care Board, Dr Ibrahim Mustapha, Water Aid Country Director, Mrs Evelyn Mere, SLG of Ikorodu North, Mr Niyi Odugbesi and representatives of PEPSICO Foundation, Lagos State Ministry Of Environment, LASWARCO, SUBEB and Ojodu LCDA.
