Today, the Ojodu LCDA administration, led by Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, undertook a compassionate initiative at the council secretariat in Oke-Ira Ogba. The endeavor encompassed the distribution of food items, one million Naira in cash, and wheelchairs to individuals living with disabilities. This initiative was launched as part of a broader strategy to alleviate the impacts of subsidy removal on vulnerable citizens.
Prior to this, Ojodu LCDA had already extended support to widows and other disadvantaged members of the community. This support included free public transportation and subsidized food supplies, all aimed at mitigating the consequences of subsidy removal for the local population.
During the event, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku highlighted that this initiative was a reflection of his administration’s commitment to social inclusivity and the well-being of its citizens. It underscored the belief that every segment of society is special and equally important, with a focus on ensuring that People Living With Disabilities feel a true sense of belonging.
Mrs. Josephine Omolola, a representative of People Living With Disabilities and a Director within the Lagos State Government, commended Mayor Odunmbaku for his humanitarian endeavors. She expressed her appreciation for his efforts in enhancing the lives of the community, particularly in the context of uplifting vulnerable groups within the Ojodu LCDA.
