ODUNMBAKU DOLES OUT PALLIATIVE TO WIDOWS

In a bid to build a new budget for 2023 fiscal year, the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon David Olusegun Odunmbaku, the Executive Committee and Management team converged at Novatel Hotel, Lekki for budget retreat.
While giving the opening remarks, Odunmbaku expressed his readiness to further initiate more people-oriented projects in line with his HEYS (Health, Education, Youth empowerment and Social Infrastructure) Mission; hence the deliberation and brainstorming on the theme: ‘The Budget of Continuous Development’.
“We are here to review our previous year’s budget performance, to brainstorm and make decisions on the new fiscal year’s budget. We are also here to develop a well-planned 2023 appropriation that will clearly outline people-oriented programmes and projects; also, to strategize on government policy formulation that will be beneficial to the people of Ojodu LCDA; and its effective implementation” the Mayor said.
During the first lecture, the Director Consultancy Services, PSSDC, Magodo Mr. Sunday Olufemi addressed the topic bordering on ‘Effective leadership behavioral skills for improved team performance at work. He reiterated the need for team work to aid effective decision making and also highlighted the modes of attaining and maintaining leadership roles.
Likewise, during the second lecture, Director General, Public Procurement Agency (PPA) Alausa, Mr. Fatai Onafowote buttressed on the need for proper documentation and strict adherence to procurement process.
In the wrap-up of the day’s sessions, the Vice Chairman Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi reported on the year 2022 Revenue performance; stating that the year’s performance is about 45%. However, he appreciated the efforts of the Mayor towards the recently concluded Revenue drive which gave room for improved revenue generation.
Oluyadi expressed that the revenue performance was due to the usurpation of some of the Council’s responsibilities by the State Government, bottlenecks during revenue/rates collection as well as the unavailability of other logistics that would aid improvement on revenue generation.
Subsequently, the Chairman promised to provide the necessary paraphernalia to the staff and admonished for revitalized efforts and commitment towards revenue generation.
