The Executive Chairman, Ojodu LCDA Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of staff. He made this known at an interactive and familiarization session held on Monday 31st January at the Council Hall.
“The welfare of the workforce is my priority. We are committed to tackling all the deficiencies and backlogs of staff-related issues such as the provision of befitting staff canteen, completion of administrative blocks, provision of internet facilities, staff clinic, keeping personal records, provision of customary court, procurement of staff/revenue buses, renovation and rehabilitation of the moribund ICT and Vocational Centers, provision of ambulance, health attendants, and inauguration of non-pensionable revenue staff to complement the smooth running of daily activities.
Nevertheless, I can’t do these alone without your support and input, especially in the place of revenue generation”, Odunmbaku expressed.
The Mayor also admonished the staff on the need for more dedication, commitment to excellence, training and academic upgrade, which would have positive impacts on the productivity level.
It is also imperative to maximize the available resources and opportunities while ‘putting a round peg in the round hole’.
Odunmbaku who was impressed at the turnout of the staff hinted that the meeting would be held on a quarterly basis in order to further foster cordiality and synergy between the Excos and staff; as his doors are also widely ajar to accommodate innovation, ideas and inquiries that would move the Council forward.
Furthermore, in his remark, the Council-Manager Engr. Dele Abayomi enjoined the staff to work assiduously and harmoniously to ensure the success of Odunmbaku’s administration, particularly the actualization of the H.E.Y.S Agenda (Health, Education, Youth & Women empowerment, and Social Infrastructure). He also charged them to remain professional and ethical while carrying out their duties, particularly regarding the handling and treatment of official documents.
While responding to teaming questions, the Chairman promised to procure photocopy machines in order to forestall infiltration of official documents, while the data gathered by Lagos State Operations Coordinating Unit (LASOCU) agents would be mined to adequately cater for the needs of Ojodu citizens and serve as a formidable and up-to-date database.
The Chairman also promised to enthrone meritorious incentives, remuneration and awards for all deserving staff to serve as morale boosters for subsequent productivity and encouragement.
In his own remarks, the Nulge Chairman Ojodu LCDA chapter, Comrade Abolore Rufai assured the Chairman of staff unflinching support and loyalty towards a better Ojodu LCDA by being dedicated, committed and exhibiting a good behaviour at all times
He further assured him of excellent productivity and innovative service delivery to the residents in a conducive environment
Also present at the meeting were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, Leader of the House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, Revenue Chairman, Mr Olaleye, Management Team and the entire staff.
