ODUNMBAKU DOLES OUT PALLIATIVE TO WIDOWS

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku hosted the top echelons of the Local Government Service Commission at the Council Secretariat on 8th April 2022.
The Commission Chairman Hon. Kamal Bayewu, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Directors, and other members were warmly welcomed by the Council’s management team, Legislators, and the entire staff of the LCDA.
While giving his remark, Hon. Bayewu expressed his satisfaction with the synergy and understanding which exist between the staff and the political class which serves as the precursor for productivity and success.
“This visit is part of our oversight functions to check the welfare of our staff because they are our ambassadors. We are keen on ensuring mutuality between the pubic servants and the civil servants while encouraging them to take cognizance of the provisions of the public service rule, financial regulations, and administrative guidelines with the ultimate aim of actualizing the yearnings of the political class and meeting the expectations of the masses.
“So far so good, we appreciate the Executive Chairman for taking care of the welfare of the staff as well as the cooperation and cordial relationship that exist in this LCDA. We also admonish the staff to keep striving for excellence in order to complement the efforts of the Chairman, particularly in the aspect of revenue generation” Bayewu said.
While addressing the august gathering, Hon. Odunmbaku acknowledged the commitment of the Commission to the growth and development of grassroots governance.
The Mayor said: “We appreciate your commitment to the growth and development of local government administration, particularly through the posting of professionals and erudite civil servants whose wealth of experience and vast knowledge have been instrumental to the achievements which our administration has recorded so far”.
After reeling off several welfare initiatives and other achievements of his administration, Odunmbaku solicited for more capable personnel in order to complement the efforts of the existing ones to actualize his administration’s HEYS Agenda.
“However, we still are in need of more capable hands to further complement the efforts of the existing workforce in order to actualize our agenda captured in the acronym; HEYS – Health, Education, Youth and Women Empowerment, Social Infrastructure which are in tandem with Lagos State’s THEMES agenda and Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Permanent Secretary, Local Government Establishment, Training and Pension Office, Kikelomo Bolarinwa reiterated the need for compliance with the extant provisions of the Public Service rule, particularly regarding career progression and further studies.
In his closing remarks, the Council Manager, Engr. Dele Abayomi appreciated the Commission Chairman and his entourage for the visit while promising that ‘all the deliberations shall be given utmost priority with the expectation of conspicuously positive changes’.
Other dignitaries at the meeting were the Commissioner representing Epe Division – Hon. Ahmed Seriki, the Commissioner representing Lagos Island division – Hon. Hakeem Bamgbola, the Commissioner representing Ikeja Division- Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo, the Commissioner representing Ikorodu Division – Hon. Abiodun Orekoya, the Permanent Secretary for the LGSC – Mr. Abiodun Bamgboye, the Permanent Secretary for Establishment, Training, and Pension, Mrs. Bolarinwa Kikelomo, and other esteemed members of the team.
