Any nation that fails to empower the youth has compromised her future to failure. It is an honor for me to stand here today and give out G.C.E Forms to our future leaders in recognition of potency of quality education as the pivot of development.
It is a conviction in fulfilling one of our political promises that education is the catalyst of sustainable development, as you may recall that during our 100 Days in Office, education was taken as one of our priorities through the following:
Construction of Six Block Classrooms with equipments at Oke-ira Primary School.
Provision and Distribution of 35,000 copies of 40 leaves Exercise books.
300 Desks and Benches to all Primary Schools and Junior Secondary Schools
300 pieces of Mathematical sets and Pencils to all Primary Schools in Ojodu
To mention few, this administration cherishes continuous progress of our children especially in the aspect of Education. And in order to complement the efforts of His Excellency Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Code Lagos and effective implementation of one of the 17 Goals of MDGs/SDGs is through the distribution of free G.C.E. forms to the needy students of the Local Council Development Area.
At this junction, let me seize this opportunity to advise the beneficiaries to make optimum utilization of this rare opportunity by being good ambassadors of this Local Government because to whom much is given, much is expected, and make sure you face your studies squarely and shun all social vices such as gambling, cyber crime, cultism, hooliganism among others.
To this end, parents should endeavor to give their children necessary support both morally and spiritually so that they would become their pride and that of the nation.
