In a significant boost to healthcare delivery, the Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has officially commissioned the newly renovated Ogba Primary Health Centre (PHC). The project, executed in collaboration with WaterAid Nigeria and supported by Kimberly Clark Integrated Hygiene and Health Projects (I-HHP), marks a major milestone in the council’s commitment to quality healthcare and improved sanitation for residents.
The renovation includes the installation of a 15,000-liter solar-powered borehole with a water treatment plant, ensuring clean and safe water access for patients and healthcare workers. Additionally, the maternal and children’s wards have been upgraded while the facility is now equipped with modern medical equipments and improved sanitation facilities, strengthening primary healthcare services in Ojodu LCDA.
Speaking at the commissioning, Hon. Odunmbaku emphasized the importance of the initiative in enhancing public health standards. He commended WaterAid Nigeria and Kimberly Clark for their commitment to improving hygiene and healthcare infrastructure. The Chairman also highlighted the council’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare access through comprehensive upgrades of Gbadamosi, Okeira and Akiode Primary Health Centres.
Furthermore, Hon. Odunmbaku reiterated the impact of the “See A Doctor” initiative, a flagship healthcare programme by the council, which has so far provided free surgical treatments to 342 residents, alongside a free weekly dental and eye care services. These initiatives, with a signing of MOU on maintenance of the newly renovated Ogba PHC with Wateraid Nigeria underscores the Council’s proactive approach to making quality healthcare sustainable, accessible and affordable for all Ojodu LCDA residents.
