OJODU LCDA CHAIRMAN PRESENTS ₦9.9BN 2026 “BUDGET OF SUSTAINABLE GROWTH FOR ALL ” TO LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

In his address, Hon. Odunmbaku expressed deep appreciation to the Legislative Arm for its unwavering support and cooperation since the commencement of his administration, describing the synergy between the executive and legislature as the bedrock of effective democratic governance. He emphasized the constitutional role of the legislature in the appropriation and oversight of public funds, noting that public office holders remain trustees of resources meant for the collective welfare of the people.




Providing a financial breakdown, Hon. Odunmbaku disclosed that the proposed budget totals ₦9,901,183,493.72, with ₦5,187,249,379.03 earmarked for recurrent expenditure and ₦3,109,622,306.51 allocated for capital projects. He assured residents of Ojodu LCDA of prudent, transparent, and accountable implementation upon approval.
Responding on behalf of the Legislative Council, the Leader of the House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, welcomed stakeholders and commended the Executive Chairman for his clear vision, development-driven leadership, and commitment to good governance. He described the proposed budget as a realistic and people-centered roadmap for restoration and renewed progress.
Hon. Apatira assured that the 6th Legislative Council would subject the bill to thorough yet expedited scrutiny in line with due process and the best interest of residents. He reaffirmed the legislature’s readiness to collaborate with the executive to deliver tangible dividends of democracy, noting that the Chairman’s achievements within a short period have set a commendable benchmark for public service in Ojodu LCDA.
