ODUNMBAKU DOLES OUT PALLIATIVE TO WIDOWS

The Chairperson of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs Abimbola Odunmbaku today hosted women groups across Ikeja Federal Constituency at a townhall meeting facilitated and moderated by the Lagos State Domestic And Sexual Violence Agency to raise awareness on gender based issues at the Council Hall in Oke-Ira, Ogba.
Mrs Abimbola Odunmbaku while welcoming attendees of the meeting described sexual and gender-based violence as a serious problem in our communities and it is the collective responsibility of a community to take action to prevent and respond to the violence.
She said “We must work to raise awareness about the issue of sexual and gender-based violence and also educate our community members about the issue and provide them with the tools they need to prevent and respond to this violence.”
“We must also work to ensure that our laws and policies reflect our commitment to preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence. We must ensure that our laws and policies are effective and that they are enforced.” said Mrs Odunmbaku.
“Together, we can make a difference in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence and create a safe and respectful environment for all members of our community.”
She concluded by imploring women to vote massively for the APC and it’s candidates in the forthcoming elections as the party’s ideology is geared and the best towards women development.
In attendance at the meeting are Ojodu APC Women Leader, Alhaja Bukky Badmus, DOS Apex Women Leader, Yeye Funke Akinwale, Supervisors and SA For WAPA, Mrs Folake Adams, Mrs Funbi Akinduro and Mrs Shakira Junaid.
