Ojodu LCDA emerged from Ikeja LG in 2003
Ojodu Local Council Development Area was carved out of the old Ikeja Local Government in October 2003, by bill of the Lagos state House of Assembly under the administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the erstwhile Executive Governor of Lagos State.
Ojodu Local Council Development Area was created as a result of the yearnings of the people following the referendum for the creation of additional local governments in Lagos State. This led to the creation of additional 37 local council development areas with existing 20 Local Governments.
The Local Council is bounded in the North by Magodo/Olowo–lra then in the East by Alausa in Onigbongbo LCDA, West by Akute/Alagbole in lfo Local Government, Ogun State and in the South by Agege and lfako/ ljaiye Local Government respectively.
The creation brought tremendous improvement and rapid development in the living standard of the people of six wards of Ojodu Local Council Development Area.
The Local Council Development Area comprises of six (6) wards which are:
- Ward A – Ogba
- Ward B – Aguda
- Ward C –Oke-ira
- Ward D- Powerline
- Ward E –Akiode (Omole) Agidingbi
- Ward F-Ojodu (Berger) Yakoyo
